People are forever stating that they cannot love what they don't understand, and for most animals that is understandable. A blue whale is a LOT more impressive when you can physically see its size, and with thanks to zoos we can also see an array of animals that possibly we would not be able to see & appreciate in our lives.
Invertebrates however are rarely displayed in zoos in the abundance as you would find in nature, if that was true you would have a zoo with all inverts and possible a Koala to balance it out (I would defiantly go to this zoo by the way!!!). As much as it sucks that this zoo does not exist, there are few animals so large in number that you can find them anywhere in the world.
To prove this i went out in my garden on Sunday and took some photos of the wonderful inverts i could find in the tiny patch of garden I have.
I have an ants nest in the garden so a lot of these guys running around the herb pots.
Everyone hates dandelions but they are one of the best early flowers that inverts have access too.
